Meiji Black Pepper Cheese Snack•十勝スマートチーズ熟成チェダーブレンドブラックペッパー入
When time is tight or you just want to have a quick snack, there always seems to be some barrier to the packaging. It’s sealed to tight, your hands are oily, you can’t find the tab…. All to common.
Being a fan of Japanese snacks, Meiji Co has these small bite size cheese snacks wrapped in a rectangular foil with an small red tab. You’ve might have experience this type of tab with other brands, but they’re not all made the same. I’ve experienced where the cheese is mushed and mashed with the foil. And yes, during that tiny window of time you have for a snack, frustration is the only option for all obstacles.
The small details matter, especially when you are trying to treat yourself. Maybe this is an exaggeration, but I think we all know that bad experiences add up quickly. Cheese needs to be accessed quickly with ease.
Meiji small cheeses have a flip top box, similar to cigarette packaging (is this subliminal marketing?) I suppose it would be a better option. The top flips open, and it serves as a tray holding the bite size cheese pieces. The tray slides out conveniently quickly reminding you how many pieces are left before a refill.
Once you pick up the cheese, there’s a red tab, you peel it open and immediately there is some type of satisfaction in the action. The foil opens up like a mini love letter with a secret message. Yes, i’ll exaggerate even more.
And the message is simple, a delicious treat filled with black pepper bits that temporarily solve both cravings for pepper & salt. This is not a luxury piece of deli cheese, nor is it a flappy slice of processed goo. Fast and simple to access along with a couple of fun obstacles. Of corse, enjoyed within a tiny window of time, with out exaggeration.
