Pepper flavoured Koikeya Pride chips, a drooling mess
I’ve been a fan of Koikeya Pride Potato chips produced out of Japan. I remember the first time I tried them, light, crispy and all gone. What drew me to the brand is was actually the packaging, simple yet bold. Definitely made me perceive that the brand wants to be taken seriously, especially with their take on potato chips. The Koikeya brand has been operating since the late 50s in Tokyo Japan.
I’ve tried around ten flavours from them but never did cross paths with their pepper flavour. After an aggressive once over, I was generous enough to leave one pack out of six on the shelf. These are small 500gram packs, they just don’t want to last. They have wide range of products offered on a global scale.
The hexagon logo may be a generic shape, but they have managed to project a slick image with a combination of elements that are structured and neat.
The snack itself uses their PRIDE potato, and the pepper light covers the chips, hard to pinpoint the type. It has a subtle touch of heat, slightly creeping up as you munch through the bag.
