25g - Red Kampot Peppercorns PGI

$4.25

One of the most fruity peppercorns in our shop. These peppercorns have a vibrant kick right off the bite and tappers off without being to aggressive. These floral peppercorns have subtle hints of vanilla and citrus fruit.

For several months, the vine carefully nurtures and develops clusters of berries until they reach optimal ripeness, turning a vibrant red. These fully matured clusters are harvested promptly to avoid spoilage. In Kampot, the ripe red berries are subjected to a method that involves dipping them in boiling water and then immersing them in ice-cold water immediately after being picked. Subsequently, they are dried under a combination of shade and sunlight for several days to enhance both their aromas and red color before undergoing a meticulous sorting process to select only the highest-quality berries.

PGI ensures quality and shields a region's production, like the renowned Kampot pepper flourishing in Southern Cambodia's climate under skilled hands. Harvested by hand at impressive heights, the drupes undergo meticulous sorting and sun-drying before grading by experts, elevating Kampot pepper to the first Cambodian product with PGI recognition in 2009.
